All care is delivered with a thoughtful, evidence-based approach, working closely with families to ensure clear understanding, appropriate treatment, and ongoing support.

General Psychiatric Assessment

A General Psychiatric Assessment provides a comprehensive evaluation of a child or young person’s mental health, emotional wellbeing, and developmental needs. Assessments are thorough and structured, involving careful history-taking, clinical evaluation, and discussion with parents or carers.

Following the assessment, Dr Rauf provides clear feedback, diagnostic impressions where appropriate, and recommendations for treatment or further support. Assessments may inform ongoing care, school support, or referral pathways.

ADHD Assessments

ADHD Assessments are offered for children and adolescents where there are concerns about attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity. The assessment process is comprehensive and follows recognised clinical standards.

Dr Rauf carefully evaluates developmental history, current difficulties, and functional impact across home and school environments. Where a diagnosis is made, clear guidance is provided regarding management options, which may include behavioural strategies, school support, and medication where appropriate.

Anxiety, Depression, OCD & PTSD

Dr Rauf provides specialist assessment and treatment for a range of emotional and mental health difficulties, including anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and trauma-related difficulties such as PTSD.

Care is tailored to the individual, with a focus on understanding emotional experiences, reducing distressing symptoms, and supporting recovery. Treatment plans may include medication, psychological strategies, or a combined approach, depending on clinical need.

Psychosis & Emotional Dysregulation

Dr Rauf has experience in the assessment and management of psychosis and emotional dysregulation in children and adolescents. This may include symptoms such as hallucinations, significant mood instability, or behavioural difficulties linked to emotional regulation.

Care is provided with sensitivity and close monitoring, with a strong emphasis on safety, clarity of diagnosis, and collaborative care planning with families.

Medication Monitoring & Management

Where medication is indicated, Dr Rauf provides careful prescribing, monitoring, and follow-up. This includes regular reviews to assess effectiveness, side effects, and overall wellbeing.

Medication management is always approached cautiously and thoughtfully, with clear explanations provided to families and young people. Treatment plans are regularly reviewed and adjusted as needed.
